Top end has been tooled to accept cotton plugging on all sizes. The 0.5 mL pipettes
are shorter than the usual serological pipette. It is therefore simpler to transfer mate-rial to a slide because it is easier to control the top of the shorter instrument. When 0.05 mL quantities are wanted, the 0.5 mL pipette with 0.05 mL subdivisions is recom-mended, since nonessential graduations have been omitted. The capacities of the 0.5 mL pipettes are ideal for syphilis testing, including VDRL tests. Most procedures require less than 0.5 mL of serum. Designed from ASTM Specification E1044, Style II requirements.
